Every Mac community in Kansas City has its own character, but they're all built around the same tree-lined boulevards, streetcar access, and central location between downtown and the Plaza.
Midtown
Midtown is Mac's core Kansas City neighborhood — a historic corridor of early-1900s apartment buildings and mansions between downtown and the Country Club Plaza. Communities here include Six40, Westport Central, Interstate Flats, Kenwood, 3435 Main and Ambassador.
Hyde Park (Kansas City)
A few blocks east of the Midtown core sits Kansas City's own Hyde Park — a historic district of grand turn-of-the-century mansions along tree-lined Armour Boulevard, home to Mac's 520 East. Westport
Just south of Midtown, Westport is Kansas City's original settlement and now its liveliest bar and restaurant district, drawing Midtown residents for a night out without needing a car.

Rockhurst University, a Jesuit university on Midtown's southern edge, drawing students who want walkable off-campus housing nearby. The Kansas City Art Institute is the city's independent art and design college sits along the same corridor, adding a creative-class presence to the neighborhood's renter mix.
If you're looking for greenery, Gillham Dog Park is complimentary for Mac residents, Hyde Park is known for its grand turn-of-the-century homes and tree-lined Armour Boulevard. And Penn Valley Park is one of Kansas City's oldest parks, located just west of Midtown with walking trails and green space close to downtown.
We're also near shopping, dining and culture, including the Crossroads Arts District, the Power and Light District, Westport and Broadway Boulevard. It's all connected with the KC Streetcar, access to buses and the highway.
